Amaia, a former zoologist, acts as the caretaker for a collection of animals which are the last of their species. Dwindling resources and an aging electrical system make survival challenging for both herself and the animals in her care. When one of the animals dies, Amaia ventures out into the cold to perform a ritual of passage in an old ice fishing shack. What Amaia finds taking shelter in the shack changes everything she thought she knew about the world she's living in.
